1/48 De Havilland Sea Vixen. A plane I've been in love with for years. Finally getting to build it. Definitely the last of the old style Airfix kits, and you can see in some places why this hasn't been re released, sink marks and thick attachment points, but I hope they do one day, as everyone should have one. Built up and painted up the cockpit today, I'll make some home made seatbelts tomorrow to spruce it up a bit. So far, enjoying it immensely.

So, today I've added seatbelts to the pilots seat, added extra detail to and painted up the inside of the airbrake, and made a start on the undercarriage. Fun day.

Today was Sea Vixen wednesday. Got a few more bits done, added weight to the front, airbrake is in, cockpit is in, air intake trunking fitted, wheel bays in and painted. Dry fitted the booms, it's going to be big, even with the wings folded.

Another day with the Sea Vixen. Finally closed the body up, and built the tail plane booms. It'll get much more interesting from now on. Still have lots more sanding, bit of puttying, re scribing panel lines, then I'll paint up the main fuselage and add the tail booms., build the undercarriage, add the wheels, then add the wing fold.

Hi Mr D, it's an interesting kit, definitely a throw back to an older time. Not a patch on the new 1/48 Airfix kits, but it's a fun aircraft to make. The sprue gates are huge though, I've found photo etch knife blades very useful.
