The color looks magnificent on the Countach as well. Extremely well done.

I think you've mixed the bodies up in the paintbouth 😄 The Mercedes was sitting on the left 😄 Funny, that you've used a Mercedes-Color and the SLdontknowRorSorwhatever was in the paintbouth too. Nevertheless: an unusual color but a good one. I like unusual colors on sports cars. What is the plan for the engine lid? What will you do with the cut outs?

It wasn't a mix up Christian: WIP - Mercedes AMG GT | Album by Mahoo76 (1:24)
The Lambo will be gloss and the Merc will be Matt. I intend to add some mesh to the cutouts. I need to decide on stainless steel or black plastic.

Nice green... is it a metallic? Just need an F40 to go with the Lambo 👍

Hi folks. Primer is on the other parts.
James, it sure looks like a metallic.
It was almost a days work to skewer the parts for the two cars, but I managed.
Interior painting and undercarriage work will have to wait a few days.

Following. I failed at building one of these in 1987. I did learn about brake fluid removing paint though.

That mesh was a lot of work. The horizontal pieces were relatively easy squarish pieces. The ones in the vertical are more triangular, and cutting them in the right shape took a few renditions.

I always find fitting the mesh a bit tricky, which glue did you use to attach it?

That's recoverable mate. But definitely more work than you need, at this time 🙁

What happened is that I sprayed 2k clear. This always seems to happen to me. Perhaps I just suck big time at it.

Thank you Bozzer.
So basically it's up the pressure or thin more.
Funny thing is, the 2k flat on the Merc worked like a charm. Same ratios, same pressure, same dumbass.

It's also about temperature mate. Obviously, when you did the Merc, everything was perfect. So it's worth taking that into consideration too.

You'll tackle it!

I sanded and polished as far as I dared to go. I didn't want to burn throught the paint, so this is it.
And I might have accidentilly finished her as well...

Thank you all for your friendly comments. It wasn't sunny today, so the colours are still a bit muted: Completed - Lamborghini Countach | Album by Mahoo76 (1:24)

In the end, all troubles are gone. Excellent result, Martin. You've all the reasons to be proud

Nice one Martin👍 Have you considered applying a second layer of clear? Let the first one dry, smooth it out a little bit and give it another round of high gloss. Works for me every time if the first round is not as smooth as I wanted it to be and gives you more "buffer" for sanding and polishing
