First WIP on the McLaren. I can already see this kit will test my sanity and patience. But I am a modeller and this is what we do. Because we are mad.

This kit is a pig. I'd hate to be someone who bought this and had no modelling experience. I imagine there's a lot of these still in bits chucked at the back of a cupboard. I must be a masochist.

Dry fitting the arse end of the McLaren. Averted a huge disaster, It's pretty well hidden and you wouldn't notice unless you knew it was there. It's still a bitch and isn't finished fighting me yet.

Yes!! Managed to get both rear brakes and all the suspension on the gearbox. It didn't ping everywhere like it threatened. The whole assembly is under tension, one loose screw and...... boom!

Test fitting rear wheels, airbox and wing stay on the 1/8 McLaren MP4-23. Dampers and torsion bars next. Then the floor pan. Exciting times. Its starting to look like an F1 car.

Wow, my custom made display case has just turned up in the biggest box I've ever seen. Pretty damn awesome.

As I've been super knackered after finishing work, I never noticed this. My case is 44 of 54. Lewis Hamilton's racing number is 44. Awesome

Not really a model, more a big construction kit. It's nice but it's really not worth the money, save up and buy an Amalgam model instead.

I remember why I put this so called kit away two years ago, it's an absolute pile of dog shit. I can make it look ok, but it wasn't worth the money, at the time I had too much money and thought this was a good idea. I would not buy one now, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, save your money. Never buy a part-work, they suck.

On issue 78 of 85. Almost finished with this pile. I'll be glad to get back to proper model kits, I've totally had enough of this one. Just the radiators, cosmetic bits and bobs, and decals left, then it can go in its case, and I'll wipe my hands of it. Truly a dreadful build and experience. If all kits were like this, I'd find another hobby.

1/8 Deagostini Kyosho 2008 Vodafone Mclaren Mercedes Mp4/23 , I'm calling this done for now. Won't say it was fun, because it wasn't. Looks ok from two feet away. Only the decals left, but I can't be arsed. One day I may do them, but at the moment, I never want to see it again. Utterly rubbish kit and experience, in one word, dissapointing.
