The Black Island (Jaguar Mk. X)

 

See? There you go! Needs a bit of love though... 

First I drilled out the rivet holding the whole thing together. 

Interior seats, outside shell, clear windows, and undercarriage base... the wheels will have to go. 

After scrubbing the old paint off, a new coat of Tamiya X-7 Red! 

Looks good. With a coat of Future. 

 

Hmm... The panel line wash was too heavy and I screwed up the hand painted chrome details. 

Let's start over... Tamiya metal primer, a base coat of XF-22 RLM Grey and a coat of Future to seal it all together. 

Some careful masking for the chrome highlights. 

Next step is the back trim. 

Chrome trim coming along. Step by step process. 

Dashboard decal... under carriage painted, trim done... now for the wheels. 

Wheels assembled... now for some axels using some polystyrene tubing. 

All done... now for the base. 

A couple of decals for license plates and we're done.
