Paintjob looks pretty nice, did you also use a clear or polished the X-34?

Oh wow, this brings back memories. I had a 78 civic 1200 with this body style.

@Alexander, yes I spray a 1K clear on it and polished it. I don't think I put the clear on thick enough. And I did some wet sanding on the X-34 which smoothed it out, but also flattened it out in a few spots.

If using 1K you need a lot of coats to get a thick enough layer. From experience I would say 5-6. Spray, let dry, smooth it a bit with 2000 grit sanding paper, repeat 5-6 times. Or you use 2K clear which I prefer where you will need max 2-3 layers

@Alexander thanks for the information. I'm still trying to find a reliable source for 2K clear.

Try eBay, I think sourcing 2k clear in the US should be the least of all problems

@Alexander, yeah it is the wild wild west... I prefer to shop local when I can, and shipping paint is a gamble this time of year. The temperature can ruin it if it gets delivered while I'm out.
There is also a little bit of wanting to use what I already have first too.
