Apparently I'm building the 1/72 Bandai Kuat Systems Engineering RZ-1 A-Wing Interceptor Starfighter.

Whacking in the base colours for the Turbo Laser AA tower and the Deathstar base. Going from blue, to green, to a final creamy grey. Every single one of my Bandai bases is a different shade of Deathstar lol 😆

So far on the DeathStar tiles. That'll do, as they are only bases anyway.

Made a start on the A-Wing, I'll paint it cream all over, then decide what squadron it's from.

Tiny update on the Bandai 1/72 A-Wing. Slowly building up the base paint scheme, think I'm going for a Green Rogue Squadron ship.

1/72 Bandai RZ-1 A-Wing " Green 2 " Rogue Squadron. That's it for today, slowly, very slowly building up the main body colour. Nowhere near the final layer, but looking very promising so far. Brushing very thin layers of vallejo to build up the eventual creamy look.

Where I'm currently at, 1/72][1/48 Bandai RZ-1 A-Wing " Green 2 " Rogue Squadron. Bottom is almost finished, going from black to off-white, through pale sand, panel lines gently weathered as im going. Changing the scale to 1/48, because the supplied pilot is ridiculously small, so I'll scratch an armless pilot torso eventually. Getting there, still needs another few layers upto off-white.

Tiny update, started painting the tail fin engines and rudders. Looking cool, a strange grey, because of odd lighting, should look normal once I'm back home Sunday. Eventually I'll start the green squadron markings.

There we go, you can see its more of a creamy off-white than a grey in better lighting. Last pic shows how huge the A is next to my other Rebel Fighters, its not 1/72, its a 1/48 kit, with a 1/72 pilot, maybe Bandai were going to make these all in the larger scale, but changed their minds? Who knows?

Bashed an amputee A-Wing 1/48 pilot from an unused Airfix Seafire mkF.XVII FAA pilot. Green 2 Stumpy Magee. Needs a bit more sanding to fit his deformed body into the cockpit. To be honest they were suicide Fighters similar to the Japanese Kamikaze of WW2, don't think any A-Wings survived Return of the Jedi's attack on the Death Star 2.

That's me done for today. Its coming along very nicely. Just bits n bobs left to do, lasers, blast marks, decals, tiny bits. Cool.

Looking great Ian. Stumpy looks much better than the supplied pilot. Fits in with the scale of the A-Wing way better. Nice work 😀

Boom, I suppose that's another one. I'll go back and add decals if I want. 1/48 Bandai RZ-1 A-Wing, "Green 2" Rogue Squadron.
