[WIP] Hasegawa 1/48 YF-19 Painting
Black strips on the side have been done with decals and rear of the cockpit is painted. I like the result there are almost no difference in color and texture.
This thin stripe is a decal. I painted over some gaps between top part and bottom part.
Stripes on wings are decals. Painted over some parts where decals ripped or damaged.

First attempt at pre-shading. (Note to self : next time prime the whole model with darker color. Using brown for beige-ish base coat would be nice.)
Some of the body color scheme is reproduced with decals and others with masking/painting. Hasagawa includes the decal for black part behind the cockpit but I didn't like the result so that part is painted. Black stripe at the side of the cockpit is decal. Note that there is no discernable difference between decaled part and painted part. (I used Tamiya X-1 acrylics.) Stripes on the main wings are done with decals and some parts where decal ripped painted over.
Tail fins are painted black/red. (There is red/black decal on those black/red tail fins.)
