So, these Champagne bottles had the perfect lids. Perfect size and shape. Unfortunately this plastic was HELL to work with, nothing would stick to it and sanding them was practically impossible. Very, very unfortunate.

I really had to force this stuff onto the rib skeleton and in hindsight I should have worked way more accurately here. The result was, that the PS got very wobbly and uneven which meant I had to fill gaps and sand a lot.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Finally, with those finns attached, it is getting some shape!
 

 

 

 

The urge to greeblie is really, really hard to resist. Thus the underside of the ship looks different from its inspiration.
 

 

 

 

 

 

Creating these was not as easy as it may look as well. The putty was very hard to sand (always clogging my sandpaper) and in the end it always broke somewhere.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The canopy glass also gave me countless sleepless nights. 🙁
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Masking this was hell, but worth the effort. I could never ever have brushed that with a paintbrush.
