This is the base for the subsequent chipping.
Mr hobby laceur paint choco brown+ vallejo rust wash as filter.
I hope that the pre-shading can still be seen after the following steps.
the result, whether it works, I'll see tomorrow😉
Hi Simon! Do you know that "Kubuś" is preserved and on permanent display in the centre of Warsaw:

I suppose I have more photos I could send you, if you wish 🙂 And I am watching, of course! 😉
Hi robert!
I came across it during my research and found out a bit about its history.
I have also found pictures of them online, but only very few original pictures.
i compared all the pictures i found and came across many differences in the painting.
Therefore i would stick to the manufacturer's specifications.
If you have a link or something similar for me, I would be very happy😀
I looked at your gallery, lots of interesting exhibits.
I think i have to plan a trip sometime .....😁
You're right, Simon - "Kubuś" was not restored accurately, alas... And if you plan a trip I suggest Cracow first, then Warsaw and then Deblin 😉
Perhaps you have found it already - the story of the renovation of "Kubuś" with many photos:

Thank you for the link robert, it's very useful for me!
And i will remember your words😁
...unfortunately I already noticed some mistakes that I made when assembling🥲
Great work, Simon. 👍
And a nice way to display this armored car.
😁😁
I decided to keep the base simple.
This makes the shape of the vehicle come into its own.
I started with a street, house fronts and barricades, but the car went "lost" in this scene, so i take the much easier way.
I think I made the right decision.
Lukasz and spanjaard, thank you so much for your nice words my friends😄
neuling, thank you for your praising words but I think there is still a lot to refine.
more is always possible. 😉
kim, i`m fine that you like it too!
Seeing this work on newsfeed with the picture number one on top my first thought was:" Hey, Simon does some bigscale too, and oh so fine. Then came the look into the upper left corner for the scale and my eyes immediately popped out of their sockets. Honour where honour belongs: "This is a masterpiece!" Congrats on this one. Ways beyond well done!!! 👍
Thank you so much for your praising words ralf!
Think it's great to have achieved such an effect😃
Also many thanks for your comment finn!
Awesome Simon. Not my genre but I really like this work 👍👍👍

Kubuś- Warsaw Uprising 1944
The Kubuś is a Polish improvised combat vehicle used by the Polish Resistance during the Warsaw Uprising in Warsaw in 1944.
Idea and built of the Kubuś began in secret on August 8, 1944, a week after the start of the uprising, in a car repair shop and was a improvised construction.
The steel plates were screwed and welded to a frame mounted on a commercial Chevrolet truck chassis.
The Kubuś was damaged but survived the war and is now on display in the Polish Army Museum.
The kit itself (Mirage Hobby 724001) needed some attention and patience because the fit of the parts was a bit problematic.
The fit of the parts was a bit problematic.
A lot of misalignment needs to be fixed, so there was a lot of filling and sanding.
That's why I had to rebuild all the welds and the hinges.
My experience with the Mirage decals is that they are very fragile.
In any case, caution should be exercised when processing them, as they tear very easily.
To mask the camo I used (a lot) of Vallejo's liquid mask.
Started with a pre- shading, followed by a rust base to create some chipping effects using AK´s chipping fluid.
First i applied the medium grey tone and chipped it, masked the lighter areas with liquid mask, applied again some chipping fluid, sprayed the darker grey shade and chipped this too.
The figures are resin cast from Scibor Monstrous Miniatures (72HM0003).
For the pavement I used old leeft over material from MiniArt.
