I started this right away, because I thougth this would be fast snap-fit kit with too simple painting. This needs a bit more work and I might regret for not painting every part with black primer before assembly.

Thanks and welcome aboard TWN, Villiers and Nagorsnik! Next are the base and painting.

Thank you, mates! Painting is pretty done now. The base needs to be done and maybe I should consider some weathering...

The Maria looks good. Did you try to simulate the color from the black and white film?

Thanks, TWN! Yes because the film is black and white I couldn't imagine it in gold. The base just tries to imitate black granite.

Working on this now, surprised at the amount of work. Some of the chunkiest injection gates I've ever seen and lots of cleaning up required on all facets of every part.

Apparently the original colour was silvery bronze, but it looks fantastic as you've done it.
This kit is in my wishlist and I was wondering if it's possible to model it in the seated position?

Thanks Spanjaard and Gorby! Good luck with you, Potchip! The work is worth it.
@gorby I guess it could be possible to model it to sit. The armor plates might allow it, but the inner body should be cut and remodelled.

Thanks, it's just a weird kit as I build - I'm mapping out the sequence to do seams elimination because for example, you need to install arms before the torso plates and you need to install the legs after torso plates, but even the leg plates due to the angle of the pegs need a specific sequence. @gorby I also toyed with the sitting stance, arms are straight forward, but the legs.. even using photo from the film, the leg plates orientation are of a very different angle when sitting and the thighs are a lot further apart. I'm also a bit iffy about the torso stance - I think the kit torso is not neutral enough (hip is too forward) to accommodate the leg plates in a sitting position (even if the knees are really just 60 degrees rather than 45 degrees, per the chair as well.
