Tamiya Monkey Groupbuild

Prepped and primed using SMS Grey Primer for most parts and Mr Surfacer 1200 for the tank, frame and a couple of other pieces. First time using Mr Surfacer and I love it! I thinned it down with Mr Levelling Thinners at a 2:1 ratio. Will definitely be using this moving forward. 

SMS Chassis Black.  

 

 

Went for a gold chain. An upgrade available for purchase irl for the Monkey. 

SMS Super Silver over Tamiya TS-14 Black. 

Frame primed in Mr Surfacer 1200 and painted in Tamiya TS-14 Black 

SMS Blue Green Flip Pearl

Decals going on  

Handlebars looking good.

Rear mudguard and lights.

Too heavy on the clear coat and it ate the paint.  

Masked the decals with blu-tack and sprayed again. Missed a few spots though.  

Remasked and sprayed again. Shouldn't have. Looked better before. This will have to do now. 

Wiring and tubing. 

 

 

Exhaust fitted. 

 

 

 

 

 

Tank masked and sprayed. Top half is SMS jet black followed by SMS Blue Green Flip. Will need to clean up those edges.  

Cleaned up, decals on and clear coated with SMS Super Clear Gloss. Then polished with Tamiya fine and finish compounds and waxed with Meguiars Carnauba car wax.
