You could actually turn this into a real Turkish burnt out Leopard 2A4. Most noticeable difference would be the return roller arrangement.

That's planned for another build. I've started down a different road with this one.

PE is from a HB Leo 2 and is somewhat inaccurate also only tacked in place for the pic. Plan is to have it distorted and damaged along with a raft of other bits inside and out. I had originally planned to build up the link & length so as to be mostly removable for painting etc, but it just frustrated me so the tracks and running gear have now been permanently secured and will be painted in situ. The kit is an old one and there is quite a bit of detail either absent altogether or has been lost over time from the box.
As this is going to be a Post-Apocalypse type of thing, the absences and inaccuracies shouldn't be overly problematic and will also allow me a degree of latitude in creating and/or damaging replacements etc.
This one has been lingering for awhile, but
I've had a re-boost of my modelling mojo after a bit of a hiatus, so its getting the TLC it needs to make some meaningful progress.

An initial basecoat of Life Color Dunkengelb (Ground Shade) applied... looks very different. Still lots to do in terms of additional detailing and finishing(obviously). In truth I'm still not quite ecided on what some of that is going to be just yet. Do I keep it a single colour or go for something a bit more varied...?

It looks interesting already. Curious what you come up with.

Update time: burn staining with some Lifecolor Burnt out set, followed up with multiple rust shade mapping inc. TENSOCROM filters/washes. I also decided to pick out the gun in Dunkelgrau just for something different.

Paul great subject, ... a few details, Turkey has the Leopard 2A4 in their arsenal and they have a smoke bus launcher with eight on each side, the twelve (six on each side) variant was only used by the Netherlands at the time. Which reference photo did you use?

Hi Jo's, I used the pics of the Turkish vehicles as an inspiration rather that a reference for this build as such. Planning on a Turkish build in the future though.

Thank you Patrick. These ones have been sponged on, but I will be hitting it with brushed ones as well.

FUBAR ALERT... working on the chipping at the backend I noticed a very obvious and large gap on the lower hull/ rear plate joint????. Rather than fill, sand repaint I'm going for a fill and weathering texture paints. I think (hope) it will sort it... ????????

An initial idea for the layout. Gonna try a few more, and with a lot more clutter.
