I started with construction of the hull and its legs. It's a snap kit like the Apocalypse Tank so I imagine it will be a rather relaxing build.
I do not have the right batteries at home so I cannot test the lighting kit yet. There's also a sound module, a little speaker that plays sound of the unit from Red Alert 2. 😄
While I don't really need that I will still see if I can install it.
The kit also features movable single link tracks, and I hope this will be a relaxing and not tedious step. First time I build a model with such tracks.

Wow! I'm glad Border decided to release this - the Red Alert Trilogy was one of my favorite RTS games.
Looks like they also have another present for us - if the crowdfunding goes through - Agent Tanya and GI resin figures (Border Model , 1:35)
Are you adding the lights yourself? Or is there an add-on module for that with the sounds?

Hey Torsten and CaptGPF, welcome!
The kit already comes with a LED kit ,as well as the sound module. Both are already in the box, so I don't need to buy anything but I didn't quite figure out yet how to install both without breaking something. Especially the placement of the magnetic switch, the manual is not very clear on that to me, so I'll have to do some testing.
Resin figures sounds interesting. Thanks for the heads up!

I am almost finished with painting this cool tank model. I'll have to double check things and attach a few additional pieces before I will apply the clear coats.
The roadwheels need an additional coat of rubber black, which I applied with a brush. The clear parts, like the periscopes (?), for example in the cupola, received a few coats of clear green from the backside. Followed by silver to enhance the reflactio and then black and light grey like the tank's hull.
The single link tracks were a bit of work but it was not as tedious as I thought, it was almost relaxing.

Thanks Bobby! I am done painting the roadwheels, but I will check them again under sunlight. I spottet a number of little parts I missed during the painting sessions and will paint them soon. Mainly details for the turret. No new images yet.
I am also considering a base but I am not sure yet what exactly I should build.

First round of chipping applied. Sometimes sponge chipping is hard to control and you can definitely see it in some areas... Not quite happy with it yet and I'll add additional chipping via brush.
Suspensions received a bit of Vallejo Steel. After I worked on the chipping the washes will follow and maybe some dirt too.

A bit more chipping and pinwash added. I already assembled the tank for a (hopefully) consistent weathering in the next steps. With more wash for example.

More weathering, rain marks added with AK Interactive and I painted the cable underneath the gun in black.
Stowage and tools still need to be placed and I want to do a bit more weathering. I won't add lots of rust like in the box art, probably more scratches and perhaps a bit of dirt splatter.
As the tracks are workable I don't want to fill them with mud or other products that will hinder their movement, even if I will never move it again once it's attached to a base. But it needs to become a little bit more dirty.
Speaking of the base, I want to build a little diorama, as with many projects, but that tank is huge. Might have to keep it simple. The next hard decision is if it should be displayed in Tank or Turret mode?
