This model was inspired by the P-51D named "Audrey" at the Hill AFB museum in Ogden, UT. Audrey was flown by Utah native, Chelsea "Pete" Peterson. Before the United States entered the war, he volunteered for the Royal Air Force and was assigned to No. 71 Eagle Squadron. At the age of 21 he was given command of No. 71, becoming the youngest squadron commander in the history of the RAF. By the age of 23 he became the youngest colonel in the US Army Air Forces. During the war, he flew 130 missions and was credited with nine aerial victories and nine probables. He retired as a major general in the United States Air Force in 1970. The headquarters of the Utah Air National Guard is named for him.
