Alright, so here is a OOB UH-1D.
A family member asked if I would make them a model of this helicopter and I happily obliged. 🙂
As I've written it's straight OOB and was a good way to reload much needes mojo.
The base is still a bit too glossy for my taste, so I will work on the ground to give it a less shiny appearance. I am not that happy with some of the decals, though.
As the windows were far too clean I carefully roughed them up with a sanding sponge and my hobby knife. There's always a fist time, I guess. Never thought the windows were too clean before.

Totally missed this one. Looks awesome mate and scuffing the glass on the side doors was a nice touch👍 How well did it go together?.. I've several in my stash that I intend do in RNZAF schemes at some point. 😉

James, thank you very much. 🙂
About construction: On my model fit was okay and I did not need to use much filler.
The most trouble I had was a bit with getting the interior inside the fuselage. The frame parts inside the nose that connects to the body. B8 and B9, as well as the front dashboard-> scalemates.com/products/img/7/9/7/141797-69-instructions.pdf
Might be just be me, but I had a bit problems with those. Then there is alignment of the interior with the body. That needes some tape to align it to A26 and A29, properly when closing the fuselage. It was fiddly but I managed without much putty.
Then there is the main rotor and its gear which I attached as final assembly, after everything else was done.
Because I painted the parts before glueing it into its "socket" it did not fit because you are supposed to attach it before glueing 30B in place. It does not fit with mine but I was able to fix it with superglue in place. Should not be visible too much that is did not fit directly where it was supposed to be, I hope.

Thanks for the info mate. Sometimes, (especially with Italeri kits) you just never know what your going to get unfortunately. I've made a note of your comments for when the time comes to start mine... probably a way off still yet though. 👍
